Aesop Westfield Chatswood
Chatswood, NSW 2067
A dynamic, sheltering space
Created by our in-house Design Department, Aesop Chatswood is defined by subtle gradations of texture, materiality and transparency—inspired by the area’s once sylvan ridges, and a diverse cultural character born of a century and a half of immigration.
The interior features richly grained Tasmanian Blackwood, pockmarked basalt, and blackened steel used for a flexible perforated façade. Similarly perforated, a screen of Blackwood forms a backdrop; its apertures effect a wavelike pattern that absorbs sound and adds visual interest. Three bulbous pendant lamps glow milky-white above a sculpted demonstration sink, evoking Chinese paper lanterns.
